Sevvrin

Sevvrin's story

Thrive Fund recipient

Sevvrin (he/they) is a resilient nonbinary Two-Spirit person of color who has been navigating life while managing multiple disabilities. These challenges have made it difficult for Sevvrin to consistently attend school and pursue a career, but they remain determined to embrace their identity and create a path forward.

Despite seeking support, Sevvrin has found that many available resources fail to address the unique needs of trans and nonbinary individuals. They are grateful to have discovered a resource that recognizes and affirms their identity, offering hope without forcing them to choose between two forms of survival.

Access to this support would allow Sevvrin to continue embracing their authentic self while building a foundation for a more stable and fulfilling future. This opportunity represents a step toward empowerment, affirming their identity, and creating the life they envision for themselves.

About Packer/Prosthetic

On average, it costs $100+ for Sevvrin's care.

What is it?

Packers and prosthetics are devices worn by trans men, trans masc, and non-binary people to provide the appearance of anatomy such as breasts and genitals for a sense of anatomical alignment.

What is life like for a person who needs this care?

Many trans folks experience gender dysphoria related to their bodies or clothing. Lack of access to a packer or prosthetic can intensify feelings of discomfort, especially in social or intimate situations.

How accessible is it for trans folks to receive this care?

Packers and prosthetics vary in cost, with high-quality options being expensive and often not covered by insurance. For individuals with limited income, even the more affordable options may be out of reach.

What is the impact of this care on the recipient’s life?

Using a packer or prosthetic can help alleviate dysphoria, boost confidence, and allow trans individuals to feel more aligned with their gender identity in both public and private settings.
