Meet Jocelyn

Jocelyn (she/her) is a 50-year-old trans woman and sex trafficking/abuse survivor seeking electrolysis in order to obtain her vaginoplasty in September. After escaping her traumatic experiences with nothing but what she could carry, she has tried to focus on the positive aspects of her transition. Jocelyn has struggled with homelessness, the inability to work until her immigration status is approved, and the PTSD from her traumatic experiences. The cost of electrolysis has proven to be prohibitive, especially given the short timetable she has to achieve her goals.

Jocelyn has become an advocate and a voice for victims of trafficking and abuse, as well as a beacon of hope for other community members, showing that they can achieve their dreams. She continues to model and uses her platform to highlight not only the suffering within the community but also the great achievements that can arise from adversity.

Transition has significantly contributed to Jocelyn's healing. "I was fetishized for what I was rather than respected for who I was for so long," she shares, "which made the struggle to be myself long and hard." She has progressed mentally and physically now that she can determine her identity rather than having it decided for her for so long.

Her most exciting dream is to finally wear a bikini and go swimming again for the first time in her life without feeling ashamed. 

Receiving support for electrolysis will help Jocelyn move forward with her transition and achieve her goal of vaginoplasty, significantly improving her quality of life and helping her continue her journey of healing and self-discovery.
