Meet Alice

Alice (she/her) is a 24-year-old trans woman who dreams of hair removal treatment to feel more secure in herself. However, she faces numerous hardships that prevent her from funding the treatment on her own. She has student loans and legal fees, and can only work part-time as she dedicates herself to attending an outpatient recovery program. Her landlord recently raised the rent, and despite living in poverty, the state of Illinois refuses to approve her for any benefits.

Despite being underprivileged, Alice prides herself on spreading kindness wherever she goes. She fondly remembers being taken in by her trans sisters, who never hesitated to share what little they had, even though they were dirt poor themselves. Inspired by their example, Alice helps her sisters and gives back to her community.

Alice looks forward to being one step closer to being the woman she wants the world to see. "The world is not always so kind to the members of the trans community that don't necessarily blend in with their cis counterparts," she shares. 

"Receiving this support would allow me to step outside without second-guessing if my 5 o'clock shadow gives me away," Alice says. "I am grateful for the opportunity to feel more confident and secure in my identity, helping me live my life with greater ease and authenticity."
