Point of Pride Welcomes First-Ever Full-Time Staff Member, Tyler Rodriguez, as Program Manager

Point of Pride is excited to announce a significant milestone in its history: the organization has hired its first-ever full-time staff member, Tyler Rodriguez (he/him), as Program Manager. This marks an important step in Point of Pride’s growth and commitment to expanding its life-saving services for the transgender and gender-diverse community.

For the past seven years, Point of Pride has been a volunteer-run organization, providing critical support and resources to over 15,000 individuals worldwide. As the demand for gender-affirming care and wellness services continues to grow, the addition of a full-time Program Manager will allow the organization to reach even more people in need.

“Having a dedicated staff person marks an exciting new chapter for us,” said Point of Pride's Board of Directors. “Tyler’s leadership and experience have already contributed so much to our programs, and now, with his full-time commitment, we’re ready to scale our impact and serve more trans individuals than ever before.”

Tyler has been an integral part of Point of Pride’s mission, serving on the Board of Directors for five years and leading the organization’s garment donation programs. With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, he brings deep expertise on the issues affecting trans individuals’ access to affirming care.

“I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity to spend more of my time helping our community access life-saving, affirming care and wellness resources like binders,” Tyler shared. “From my first day as a volunteer with Point of Pride in 2016 to celebrating the milestone in 2022 of disbursing more than a quarter of a million dollars in surgery fund scholarships, I’ve seen that no other organization is impacting our community as profoundly as Point of Pride. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to change and save lives every day.”

As Point of Pride enters this new phase with its first full-time staff member, the organization is poised to increase its reach and impact in 2023, serving more trans individuals and providing access to gender-affirming care like never before.

Point of Pride's mission is help trans youth and adults access necessary, life-saving health and wellness services. To date, Point of Pride has awarded $2,220,000 in financial aid and provided gender-affirming support to 22,000 people in all 50 states and around the world.
