Point of Pride Announces 2023 HRT Access Fund Recipients

Point of Pride is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2023 HRT Access Fund. This program provides access to gender-affirming hormone therapy for trans individuals who cannot afford or access this life-changing care.
Through partnerships with Plume, Folx, QueerMed, and QueerDoc, recipients will receive a full year of hormone therapy, including lab work and prescription drug coverage, at no cost.
Key statistics:
- 49 recipients were selected for this cycle
- 61% of recipients are people of color
- 77% have faced homelessness or housing insecurity
- 47% are living with a disability or chronic illness
- 77% live in states targeted by anti-trans healthcare restrictions
“Our grantmaking committee prioritized those living in states where gender-affirming healthcare is restricted or under attack,” said Tyler Rodriguez, Program Manager at Point of Pride. “We’re proud to support 49 individuals with access to life-saving care that would otherwise be out of reach.”
Point of Pride remains committed to expanding access to essential healthcare for the trans and gender diverse community, especially in the face of growing anti-trans legislation.
Point of Pride's mission is help trans youth and adults access necessary, life-saving health and wellness services. To date, Point of Pride has awarded $2,750,000 in financial aid and provided gender-affirming support to 22,000 people in all 50 states and around the world.
