Recipient impact
"Receiving top surgery will allow me to feel at home in my own body: to look in the mirror and recognize the person who stares back at me."
"I just wanted to share that after my surgery, I feel so much more alive. In one day, you all have created a situation for me where I'm not afraid to come out of my home."
"It's amazing how much my quality of life has changed. I'm so much less anxious than I was before, I'm way more confident and less foggy and disconnected... I feel like I'm finally experiencing the life that I was missing out on."
"Getting gender-affirming care in my state has been the hardest thing I've done mentally, physically and emotionally. I've had to cross state lines many times to receive care as a result, which has been extremely costly and dangerous."
"Receiving electrolysis will help me regain my confidence and independence to go out in my community with my head held high."
"Thank you so much for the binder. I just started a new job and the binder has helped me feel more like the man I know I am, but have sometimes struggled to see."
"I got my garment last week and it has changed my life. I feel so much more comfortable in my body. I cried tears of joy when I read the beautiful enclosed note that told me I mattered. It really touched me."
"When I first tried my binder on, I cried. I never felt so comfortable looking at myself in the mirror."
