You can help raise money and valuable resources for Point of Pride!
Hosting a fundraiser is a great way to support trans folks in need while also having a lot of fun. It’s an opportunity to be as creative as you like – go for a hike, put on a drag show, host a stand-up comedy evening – with proceeds benefiting life-changing programs and services.
To get started, fill out the form on this page to tell us a bit about your vision, and we’ll do our best to help support you (i.e. send you stickers, informational packets, signal boost the event on social media, etc.)
Then, host your party, dinner, or whatever other creative event you’ve dreamed up. You can mail in your donation as a check or submit it securely via PayPal.
To celebrate prior to their top surgery, Daryn B. wanted to throw a party and help another trans person obtain their gender-affirming surgery.
Daryn rented out a bar on their university campus for a minimal cost for the evening and asked friends to donate their time to help with decorations. They changed all the restrooms to be gender neutral and put out information on all tables about Point of Pride’s programs. Throughout the party, they accepted cash and check donations.
Evelyn T. took out ten of their best friends for a nice dinner and placed a donation jar in the middle of the table. They told their friends a little about Point of Pride and then asked their friends to consider making a small donation.
Sam T. engaged their high school’s Rainbow Alliance/GSA to sell cookies, brownies, and other baked goods throughout the week in their school’s cafeteria. They handed out information about different topics, including how their classmates can be better allies to trans students, while also collecting donations specifically for Point of Pride’s chest binder donation program. (They also collected a few gently-used binders to be donated to folks in need!)
Drew A. hosted a fun Drag Bingo fundraiser at his local Hamburger Mary’s restaurant with all proceeds raised benefiting Point of Pride and The Trevor Project. His friends and family brought other folks with them, too, for tons of mingling and fun!
If you and your trans or LGBTQ club/organization are looking for a way to bring about positive change and help the trans community, there have tons of ways your group can get involved, right from your school or community. Some easy ways you can get involved are…
- you can write positive, affirming notes of support that we will include with our free chest binders and femme shapewear for those in need
- you can hang up posters or flyers on your campus that support your trans classmates and let them know about our supportive programs and services
- you can host a bake sale, a talent show, or another event – as creative as you’d like! – where proceeds benefit Point of Pride
