This November, a team of six trans and gender-diverse athletes will be running in the world's largest marathon—the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon—supporting Point of Pride's mission.
Our runners are not just athletes participating in a marathon; they are champions of trans joy and resilience. Their dedication to fundraising and representing our community is truly inspiring, as this is the first-ever all trans charity team in the event's history. We thank them for their commitment and passion, which will help us continue providing essential gender-affirming healthcare services to those who need them most.
"Running the New York City Marathon is a powerful experience, and doing it for a cause close to our hearts makes it even more special," says Chris Mosier, Point of Pride board member, member of Team USA, and charity team coach. "I look forward to seeing our team break barriers and inspire others along the way. Together, we will cross that finish line with pride."
Lauren Lubin April, charity team coordinator, also expressed their excitement: "As an advocate for non-binary and transgender rights for over a decade, I am incredibly honored to be part of this journey. The TCS New York City Marathon is more than just a race; it's a platform to amplify our voices and showcase the beauty of our diverse identities."
Please join us in cheering on these incredible athletes who are making their miles meaningful for those in our community who need it most.
This incredible team is supported by two influential, dedicated leaders in trans inclusion in sport.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to race day!
