Meet Mac, 2022 Annual Trans Surgery Fund Recipient

Congratulations to Mac, who has been awarded $5,000 towards his gender-affirming surgery!

Mac (he/they) is a 24-year-old trans masc person currently in college while working full-time. For as long as he could remember, Mac has dreamt of having top surgery, but it's always been out of reach financially. In addition, Mac's insurance provider denied the procedure because it did not meet their very specific criteria for care.

They shared, "To me, access to surgery is life-saving. It is so hard to live as someone you're not. I can't wait for surgery so I can be who I truly am. I'm excited for every ounce of it."

Mac is going to college part-time while working full-time, and enjoys outside activities such as soccer, hiking, and swimming. Mac also loves spending time with their family and currently lives with their girlfriend of 3 years.

Mac plans to have surgery with Dr. Daniel Medalie of Cleveland Plastic Surgery in the coming months. Dr. Medalie has been a proud and generous sponsor of Point of Pride’s Annual Trans Surgery Fund since 2017, and we are so grateful for his continued support.
